FLW Tour. Lake Sharpe, S.D. Day 3
Kelly Klemm takes a commanding lead into the final
day of 2 pounds and 12 ounces on the pro side of the second FLW Tour event.
He is followed by Scott Banks, Kevin Larkins, Gerrick McComsey, Scott Fairbairn,
Ted Takasaki, Ron Seelhoff, Troy Walwood, Chris Gillman, and Bill Shimota. Five
of the top ten anglers are from Minnesota
The leading co-angler is Darrell Rosemore with an 11 ounce lead over second place angler Victor Wood. The following nine qualifiers are Jack Ellenbecker, Robert Nelson, Edward Piekutowski, Terry Etzkorn, Richard Meyers, Jim Feller, Justin Crawford, and Francis Beck.
The weather today was cloudy with a slight south wind, but the water temperature dropped 6 to 7 degrees to 41 degrees, making the bite a little tougher for most anglers. The weather tomorrow could also be a factor as another storm is expected in the area with rain and snow mixed with high winds. The wind will make the long run south, which most anglers are making, very tough.
Most anglers are using minnows with a slow presentation on a jig head, lindy rig or bottom bouncer. With another storm approaching the bite could turn very tough. Eight pounds should be a good weight tomorrow, unless some one can find that elusive 20” plus fish.
The weigh in tomorrow
will be approximately at 4:15 instead of the usual 3:00. It will take place
at the Wal-Mart in Pierre, S.D. It will be a very close finish. The cut to the
top ten was decided by a single ounce.
