MWC-Lake Winnebago/Oshkosh, WI
June 21st-22nd
Day 2AM
The temperature at take off was 60 degrees with partly cloudy skies and very little wind to speak of.
While it was beautiful at take off time, most people expected to see the rain come in to the area again, People could be seen readying their rain gear.
Today's Predicted weather is:
Isolated showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 9am. Some of the storms could produce small hail. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
The competitors were a little slower getting their boats in the water this morning, and by take off time, there were still a few boats launching their rigs. Yesterday, they were a little more excited to get going, and everyone was in the water by 6:45.
Menominee Park is well suited to launching 194 boats quickly though, so the late arrivals were still able to get launched in time.
If you're coming down to the park for the weigh in this afternoon, don't forget to bring an umbrella! I suspect it might be a wet one. The weigh in will start at 3PM Central Time.
Today is the day that the winning teams will give up the secrets of their success over this past weekend, and will tell us how they were able to out fish the rest of the field, so don't miss out!
