Lemke and Seibert Lead Day One Cabela's NTC

Mobridge, S.D. – The weather just wouldn’t give anglers a break on the first day of Cabela’s 2008 National Team Championship Walleye Tournament.  The day started with high winds and whitecaps, and it ended with thunderstorms.

The waters of Lake Oahe were whipped into a frenzy of whitecaps by winds that gusted over 30 mph most of the day.  Only during the last hour of fishing was a slight decrease in their velocity noted by a meteorologist monitoring the weather.  But that’s where the good weather news ended.

Storm moving inWith partly cloudy skies and diminishing winds at the weigh-in site, things were looking up for anglers who were already soaked and still wearing raingear when they pulled into the staging area at a local Ford dealership.  But soon after the weigh-in show started, hosts Jimmy Dykes and Bill Doleman commented about the increasing cloud cover.  “What do those clouds mean?” Dykes asked the crowd that filled the bleachers.  “Rain!” came the reply from several of the locals in unison.  A few minutes later the winds kicked up again, lighting began to streak across the sky, thunder rumbled and everyone ran for cover.

Adams Jr. Leads FLW Cass Lake Going Into Final Day

Walleye Pic

Friday the 13th proved lucky for 10 FLW Walleye Tour competitors in the third regular season event on Cass Lake, in Cass Lake, Minnesota.

The weather was down right nasty again today with winds out of the WSW at 25mph with gusts to 40mph.
The skies would darken, winds would grow stronger, and buckets of rain would fall for a few minutes at a time..
Then as quickly as the mini storms came, they disappeared.
The Sun would pop back out and warm things up until the next round of rain clouds came blowing in again.

While some anglers had a great day on the water, and caught a lot of fish, others had mechanical problems and some just couldn't control the boat in the winds that blew today.
Only 66 (5) fish limits were caught today out of 123.

10 Pros, with the help of their Co Anglers, managed to put a solid game plan together. Over the last three days they were able to execute it to perfection, and by doing so they will be rewarded after one more day of fishing.

The top ten anglers face off tomorrow to see who will be taking home the top prize of up to $100,000.00!
